The LSI SAS 9210-8i host bus adapter provides high-performance connections between 1U and 2U servers and workstations for internal drives. The LSI SAS 9210-8i provides 8 channels of 6Gb/s SAS, which matches the performance of 8-channel PCI Express 2.0 5Gb/s to eliminate bottlenecks. The performance is based on the LSISAS2008 IO controller, which is highly integrated with the latest enhancements of PCI Express and SAS technology. The HBA supports up to 256 SAS or SATA devices.
The LSI SAS 9210-8i has two (x4) vertical internal mini SAS connectors (SFF8087) positioned to achieve a slim solution, providing SAS and SATA data transfer rates of 1.5, 3, and 6Gb/s per channel, and can achieve over 320000 IOPS through automatic speed negotiation. Enhanced features include T-10 protection information model for early detection and recovery from Data corruption, and spread spectrum clock (SSC) to achieve minimum EMI.
